Suicide Picks Pretty appalling results for me this week. Chelsea were 2-0 up with Tammy Abraham looking like the finisher that Chelsea hasn’t had since… Kerry Dixon.. or maybe Diego Costa.
One Loser this week
Some people didn’t play so moving forward we have six people left to pick.
Main Results After a few years of getting out to a fast start and then slowly ceding (or keeping the lead) while having a healthy lead over LJ I’m starting to get the feeling this year will be different.
AA was nice enough to point out an error on the score-sheet. I usually pick these up when I do a full table review at various points in the season but now we get real-time corrections.
I had Burnley down for a 1-0 win at the Molineux but that’s because I switched the game off after 96 minutes. Little did I know that games now last 97 minutes.

BE moved further ahead with another exact and do we really need to be helping ME?
It wasn’t a great week with some of the results being fairly unpredictable. As bad as Man U are, a home against at Crystal Palace should have yielded a win. As bad as Newcastle are, an away game at Spurs should have yielded a loss. Even Wolves being upset at home by Burnley was a minor update.
Looks like LJ got lucky with the exact – 8 incorrect picks is pretty remarkable!
Suicide Picks
It’s week THREE and already the suicide picks are over with the three remaining people remarkably failing to get a correct win! So Week 4 will begin with everyone back in the game. Shocking!
Lets start with the suicide picks. There was controversy over on the Facebook group as AM questioned whether ME was still allowed to pick.
Cmon! ME picked Chelsea and they Lost!
After further review it was revealed that ME wasn’t ME but ME was BE pretending to be ME. ME was in fact removed with his pick of Chelsea and there are just three players left.
Moderators Note: If you manage to get 3 exacts AND win the weekly picks BUT get knocked out of the suicide picks it just proves that it’s all just lucky guesses.
The One Time I go For Man U
Moving onto the regular picks – with one result gone only TWO players scored a point.
Comments
AA: “Really just hoping for an Everton loss…;)”
Aren’t we all?
JE: ” Horrible week”
Comment on last week? Or is this a premonition for this week?
ME: ” Good week last week.. hopefully better this week ? …. I hope that I have chosen wisely. “ I’m not sure you can guess better!!
This weeks game of the week can be summed up with this once impossibility
JE questioned if he picked exactly the same as ME and the first post went through theh first VAR of the season.
VAR The Results
The findings were that there was an egregious foul on the reporting of results that resulted in a complete replay. Unfortunately, the answer to the original question was that JE should have wished he picked the same as ME because after the re-adjustment he fell down the table a little.
Early doors.
Then there was another review
Did LJ cheat?
It was noted that LJ scored a suspicious EXACT on the Liverpool – Norwich game. Who would really pick 4-1?
I was informed by LJ that he entered that pick after the game and that I should remove his points. As a huge Liverpool fan and knowing that he would have picked them the referee’s decision was to award him a 1 pt correct team victory.
As for this week? I have tallied everything up and ready to go EXCEPT I’m waiting for JE to give me his picks!
The clock is ticking.
JE Time
Appreciate the patience. This has been a tough week. I’ll be putting the picks up tomorrow. I will also be creating a summary results page that will be on the main menu (assuming I remember).
This post had to be totally reproduced due to a number of errors. Please check that your picks have been captured appropriately as I’m trying a new spreadsheet layout to make it easier.
Updated Picks
And the results with a surprising number of successful draw picks.
This week there were two DOA (dead on arrival) and two that dropped off. Liverpool were the popular pick with one of the other Top 5 teams being selected and they all managed to produce a win.
Bournemouth looked good for the win for a long while and Watford was the week’s inexplicable pick (as a Watford fan I can say that!)
